Don't have to work today, so I'm calling the ladies on Twitter until they stop, or 3 p.m. comes (when I have to go teach) whichever comes first. Check my Twitter page if you want a retrospective blow by blow!
I would just like to say, that if I could skate 1/10 as well as the worst of them, I'd be about 100 times better than I am right now! So all snark aside (and I'll try to keep it at a minimum), ladies, you're amazing.

is it just me, or is the rink bigger than usually? maybe it's just the cameras and the shooting angles..
ReplyDeleteWeird, you're right, it does look big. Maybe that's why everyone seems to be skating slowly too. An Olympic rink is 100 x 200 (NHL 85x175-190), can't imagine it being any bigger than that.
ReplyDeleteis that the same rink where they had the olympic games?
ReplyDeleteand on another note- do you agree with the judges downgrading Asada's 3A?
Yes, that's the Olympic rink, and no, that axel was as clean as it gets. I hope her coach put in a protest. She was BACKWARDS. Watch her knee. Judges are now using downgrades the way they used to use the second mark--to artificially keep skaters low. Leonova and Flatt have also been given downgrades that they didn't deserve. They did it in reverse for Joubert and Nagasu-- gave full credit to underrotated jumps.
ReplyDeletehow did Kim get a point more than Asada in the free skate? she did a walz jump instead of a 2a?? I JUST DON"T GET IT
ReplyDeleteNobody gets it. How did Laura Lepisto, the skating world's answer to sleeping pills, end up in third?
