Yes, of course those are Ice-Halos we are wearing! (They just won a nice award!)

Do you have an outdoor rink near you?

  1. Awesome! Look at the size of that rink! I'm thinking those of us out here in the Southwest get a bit envious when we see large outdoor rinks; out this way we get tiny pop-up ponds over the holidays that are always too crowded. Enjoy!

  2. Chicago's outdoor rinks are awesome if you go to the right rink at the right time! Looks like a perfect ice dance team :D

    1. Paris outdoor rinks are great! The one outside the Hotel de Ville is the biggest and there's even one up the Eiffel Tower (not good for much, except the great photo opportunity). The best bit? The Hotel de Ville one is free if you have your own skates (€5 to hire skates)!

  3. Mmm...let's see we are wearing shorts, it's 70 plus degrees. Nope-no outside rinks. There is one about 3 hours away and I think it would be cool to check it out.

  4. What great pictures! Love it! We're lucky here in the Washington, DC-area. Lots of outdoor skating, including rinks with great views of the monuments, museums and such. The rinks get busy, but it's such a fun way to spend an afternoon. One of the many reasons I love living here.

  5. Yeah...it's about 80 degrees here and I'm in a T-shirt and running shorts. No outdoor skating for me.

  6. Those fuzzy ice halos look especially super worn on the outdoor ice; it's like you're wearing Russian hats!

    1. Yeah, Wei had this whole Mongol Hordes look to him, as he was wearing a beret under it. :)

  7. Love the pictures! Agree with MER - my daughter and I have started a tour of the outdoor rinks here in the DC area on the weekends. We are lucky to have several options, each with their own unique twist!

  8. Awwww beautiful! I've only skated outdoors once, on a temporary rink without a Zamboni. During my 5-month skating break I was sorely tempted by an outdoor rink with rental skates, but resisted due to lack of helmets.
